KINDERGARDEN

Netherby Kindergarten Archive Due to the current pandemic this semester I was living back in Adelaide with my parents for the first time after moving to Melbourne five years ago.

My suburb here is netherby and is where I lived for the first 22 years of my life. Netherby is a upper middle class suburb on the edge of the Adelaide foot hills.

While looking a maps of the area I noticed how much of the suburb is by Waite Arboretum and Adelaide university so I chose this as my site. I chose a location where the central avenue of trees and a waling path meet so there was easy access to my sight.

I was inspired by the flowers of the Grevillea robusta or commonly called the Silky Oak that were in bloom when I went to visit the arboretum. My design was also inspired by my memories of attending Netherby kindergarten and memories of playing and learning in the arboretum.
